Case Studies

RISE deeply understands the international development sector and its unique talent challenges. Below are relevant highlights of our work to meet the talent needs of our clients.

Ethics Training

Following the #Metoo and #Aidtoo movements, the international development and humanitarian sector decided to focus on workplace conduct/ethics training. RISE was well placed to help as several of our clients were also searching for training to meet their challenges, which included a decentralized, multicultural workforce with significant power dynamics.

Talent Development - Building a Culture of Feedback

Due to budget constraints and work pressures, this INGO client promoted their staff to managerial roles without adequate management training. Subsequently, they identified feedback as a key skill requirement for their managers and asked RISE to help.

Helping to Build a Strong Global HR Network

This INGO client had moved their organization to a shared leadership model so responsibility for HR no longer rested within the traditional HQ office. Instead, authority for HR was dispersed across country offices, and global HR projects were shared across a global HR Community of Practice.

Most HR employees welcomed this change but there were teething problems which needed to be addressed.
